FD taps new global chairman after 17-year vet steps down

LONDON: Financial Dynamics has named Oliver Pawle, a vice chairman of UBS Investment Bank, as its new global chairman. He succeeds Tony Knox, who is stepping down after 17 years in the position.

LONDON: Financial Dynamics has named Oliver Pawle, a vice chairman of UBS Investment Bank, as its new global chairman. He succeeds Tony Knox, who is stepping down after 17 years in the position.

Pawle has served as the chair of FD's advisory board for the past year. He will remain in his position at UBS while helming FD.

Knox will step back from the day-to-day operations of the agency that he helped to grow, but will stay on as director of the board of FD's holding company.

FD's top worldwide management group will now consist of Pawle, group CEO Charles Watson, group COO/ CFO Sanjay Jawa, and US CEO Declan Kelly.

Pawle has been with UBS since 1986. After its merger with SBC, he was named chairman of corporate broking, and now serves as an investment banking adviser.
