Kaplan promotes comms head to top marketing post

NEW YORK: Kaplan's top communications executive Melissa Mack has been promoted as SVP of communications and marketing and will assume leadership of all marketing duties for the Washington Post Company-provider of educational services.

NEW YORK: Kaplan's top communications executive Melissa Mack has been promoted as SVP of communications and marketing and will assume leadership of all marketing duties for the Washington Post Company-provider of educational services.

Melissa Mack, the current SVP of communications, will now be responsible for corporate marketing and branding, in addition to her corporate communications, philanthropic, and internal communications duties.

In this position, Mack will report to Jonathan Grayer, Kaplan chairman and CEO, on marketing matters, and Harold Levy, EVP and general counsel, on communications issues.

Mack has helmed Kaplan's communications function since 1992, with her role gradually increasing as Kaplan expanded from a test prep company in 1992 to a multi-faceted education company. Previously Mack was a Rubenstein Associates VP.
