WASHINGTON: John Bozzella has left his post as VP of public policy and state governmental affairs at Ford to become VP, external affairs and public policy, Americas, at DaimlerChrylser.

He replaces Tim McBride, who is now SVP of government relations at Freddie Mac.

Bozzella will work with Daimler offices in Washington, DC, Canada, and Mexico, and coordinate US federal and state policy issues with Daimler's external affairs and public policy office in Auburn Hills, MI. He was not available to comment on his new position.

Earlier in his career, Bozzella was director of state legislative affairs at New York City's Mayor's Office.

At Ford, Dan Brouillett, formerly VP of Washington affairs, has been promoted to VP of governmental affairs. His duties have been expanded to include state relations and global public policy, duties that Bozzella had overseen.

Brouillett joined Ford early last year after serving as an assistant secretary of energy for the Bush administration during the President's first term.
