NEW YORK: The Public Relations Society of America announced its highest operating income in history thanks to a 17% increase in total revenue, according to the Society's 2004 year-end financial results.

QUEBEC: Interpublic agencies Weber Shandwick and Draft Quebec are merging their PR groups in Quebec. The combined group will operate under the Weber Shandwick name. Michel Ouellet, previously VP at Draft Quebec Public Relations, has been named EVP and GM of WS in Montreal. Manon Gauthier and Lise Perras, VPs with WS, will also assume key management roles in the group.

BOSTON: Cone has been selected by Starbucks for media outreach, product launch support, and community relations outreach in New England. The firm currently works with Starbucks on a national level to help the brand communicate its sustainable coffee practices both inside and outside the company.

DUBLIN, CA: After an agency search, Sybase is renewing its relationship with Citigate Cunningham. Sybase has worked with Cunningham for the past four years. The $788 million company develops database software and mobile-computing technologies.

BELLEVUE, WA: Waggener Edstrom has joined Eurocom Worldwide, a collaborative network of independent agencies. Through the network, Wag Ed will offer its clients local media relations services in markets where the agency does not have a presence.

ATLANTA: BellSouth has hired Creaxion to promote its sponsorship of the Classic Chastain Concert Series. Creaxion will promote Bellsouth's sponsorship of the music series, which features performances by musicians including Carlos Santana, Isaac Hayes, and Lyle Lovett.

NEW YORK: LVMH W&J, the watch and jewelry division of luxury products group LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, has promoted Livia Marotta to director of PR and corporate communications for LVMH W&J USA and TAG Heuer North America. Most recently, Marotta served as TAG Heuer's PR manager for the US and Canada.
