ORLANDO: The Antigua and Barbuda Ministry of Tourism has selected Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown & Russell (YPB&R) as its first North American AOR in eight years.
Mary Jane Kolassa, SVP, said the twin island state had focused on attracting UK travel for the past couple of years, and that the agency would be tasked with informing a largely unaware North American public of the island's resources.
"The advantage in working with a client that has a blank slate [in the US] is that there aren't any negative perceptions [about the islands], and you don't have to un-tell old stories," Kolassa said.
YPB&R will target general interest travel publications, as well as ones focusing on cliff diving, yachting, British history, and beach travel. The islands boast rare pink-sand beaches.
While the islands' main vacation season is winter, Kolassa said the agency has immediately begun working on attracting visitors in the fall.
