XM hires comms SVP

LOS ANGELES: XM Satellite Radio has hired its first SVP of corporate communications.

LOS ANGELES: XM Satellite Radio has hired its first SVP of corporate communications.

Nathaniel Brown will be based out of New York, and focus on the music and entertainment aspects of the satellite radio service.

Most recently, Brown served as VP of media relations for Sony BMG Music, where he has been since 2000. Prior to that post, Brown was director of corporate communications for Hachette Filipacci Media, which publishes titles including Elle and Premiere. He has also worked for Dan Klores Communications.

XM Satellite Radio is the nation's largest satellite radio service with 4.4 million subscribers. The company recently made headlines when it announced a partnership with Napster that will allow subscribers to download music, as well as a separate announcement with Samsung for a new MP3 player that will double as a satellite radio receiver.
