SUNNYVALE, CA: Medical device company ArthoCare has selected HealthInfo Direct to lead clinical trial recruitment, media relations, and grassroots activities for its spine products franchise.
The Schaumburg, IL-based agency will launch an educational campaign to enroll patients into investigative sites.
HealthInfo will also help build a physician loyalty program for the company. The agency will focus on doctors who have a high level of credibility in their fields, and help promote them and their practices in the community.
"The physician becomes a stronger ally with the company," said Marita Gomez, partner at HealthInfo Direct.
ArthroCare makes minimally invasive surgical tools, many of which use its patented Coblation technology, the low-temperature radio frequencies that allows surgeons to remove diseased tissue with less damage to the surrounding healthy tissues.
The company in an earnings report noted that it expects the business to grow 20% over the third and fourth quarters.
Terms were not disclosed.
The franchise includes surgical tools for disc decompression and tissue removal as well as products for procedures of the bones around the spine.
ArthroCare also makes sports medicine and ears, nose, and throat products.
