HOUSTON: Organizers of the US-Arab Economic Forum have selected Hill & Knowlton to boost attendance and registration at the second such event promoting closer business ties between the US and Arab world.
Mike Breslin, GM of H&K Houston, noted that the forum brings together a "who's who" of business leaders and policymakers.
Former President George HW Bush is the event's honorary chairman, and the host committee includes the presidents and CEOs of companies such as Exxon Mobil and Halliburton.
H&K will handle media relations and marketing for the event, which will be held here September 14-16. "It's targeting particularly senior executives, policymakers, [and] anyone who has an interest in business and policy issues affecting the Middle East," Breslin said.
He added that the forum would be promoted as a place for business and policy leaders to discuss economic opportunities. About 1,500 attendees are expected.
This is the first time H&K has been retained for the event.
"The Forum is designed as a venue wherein participants can explore ways to use business as a bridge to build stronger U.S.-Arab relations, and ultimately create a shared stake in a prosperous future," said Karim Alrawi, Forum executive director in a statement.
