LOS ANGELES: Warner Bros. has hired a senior Universal executive to head communications.

Susan Fleishman, most recently SVP of corporate media affairs for Universal Studios and community affairs for NBC Universal, takes the title of EVP of corporate communications, reporting to WB Entertainment chairman/CEO Barry Meyer.

Fleishman will manage all media relations, as well as take part in global communications strategies, government affairs, and executive positioning. The studio speaks often on industry issues.

"Her excellent relationships with the press that cover our businesses and her background dealing with the public, political, and employee constituencies ... make her a natural choice," said president and COO Alan Horn.

Fleishman replaces Barbara Brogliatti, who retired last spring.
