NEW YORK: Larry Thomas has left his post as president of PR Newswire's broadcast division, MultiVu, to become COO at competitor Medialink.

NEW YORK: Larry Thomas has left his post as president of PR Newswire's broadcast division, MultiVu, to become COO at competitor Medialink.

Thomas will be responsible for driving the company's core business, as well as working with proprietary assets, such as Teletrax and MediaVision.

Laurence Moskowitz, president, chairman, and CEO of Medialink, said Thomas' "skills, vision, and discipline" make him the right candidate for the newly created position.

"The broadcast media services arena is a very complex segment," he added. "It is not so intuitive to people outside of broadcast news to instantly understand, even people in traditional PR."

"They're the industry leader for a reason," Thomas said of Medialink. "I anticipate there being a lot of knowledge there."

Thomas helped found MultiVu in 2002. Ken Dowell, EVP of information services for PR Newswire, said executive director Tim Bahr would continue to run the division.
