LAS VEGAS: Envy Man, a bi-monthly fashion magazine targeted toward gay men, will hit newsstands this week in New York, LA, Denver, Pittsburgh, and Washington, DC.

Darren Cooper, co-publisher and features editor, said the independently owned magazine is different from similar publications in both its content and target demographic.

"We want to appeal to the higher-end gay male," he said, adding that the target age group is 18 to 55, considerably older than that of other men's fashion magazines.

Envy Man also will have an art and culture component, with high-quality photography. The premier issue includes a feature on Tom Cruise, an interview with fashion designers Heatherette, and photographs from Seva Galkin's book RUS.

Stephen Moore, formerly of QVegas magazine, will serve as editor-in-chief. The initial circulation will be 25,000, but Jeff Lovari, marketing manager for the title, said it would increase by the beginning of next year.

Though Envy Man will be primarily subscription and newsstand based, Lovari said it would be distributed free at Las Vegas retail outlets and restaurants.
