LOS ANGELES: The Dannon Company has hired its first senior director of PR as part of a restructuring of its communications department.
Michael Neuwirth, most recently an SVP in Ruder Finn's New York office, takes the company's newly created top PR position.
He is responsible for developing and leading corporate image efforts, as well as overseeing social responsibility programs, handling media relations, and working with brand PR teams. He will also work with dairy and other associations on industry issues.
He reports to Philippe Caradec, VP of regulatory and corporate affairs. Previously, PR reported to marketing and human resources. Neuwirth said the change "signals that the company is at a stage in its evolution where, while brand PR continues to be a key priority, so too is PR for the Dannon Company and the Dannon corporate image."
