NEW YORK: Gibbs & Soell Public Relations (G&S) has announced an alliance with Beijing-based Inhere Communications.
Inhere will work with G&S on the agency's global clients' dealings in China. CEO Cos Mallozzi said the firm has about 20 staffers and do about 650,000 a year in revenue.
"This is our first step in a process," he said. "China is such a large market and a lot of our clients, especially business-to-business clients in the industrial sector, have been there for years."
G&S has also had a 10-year affiliate partnership with Tokyo-based Cosmo PR, which previously handled the China market. Cosmo continues to work with G&S on Japan and other Asia Pacific markets.
"We wanted someone on the ground that understood the cultural nuances," Mallozzi said, referring to former Ketchum and Fleishman-Hillard veteran James Huang, who founded Inhere. "It comes down to the fact that James and his people have experience working with multinational companies. It just seems like the two organizations are a really nice fit."
