LOS ANGELES: Paramount Pictures corporate publicist Catherine Jeffery

has left the studio to join talent publicity house ID/PR. Jeffery, who

has been working on Academy Awards campaigns for The Talented Mr. Ripley

and Angela’s Ashes, will begin her new job on January 24. ID/PR

represents stars such as Anthony Edwards and Natalie Portman.





NEW YORK: Planned Television Arts, a division of Ruder Finn, has hired

Aric Caplan as its national marketing director. Caplan, formerly a

literary and political publicity agent, has represented publishing

houses, authors and trade associations in the past. He has also served

as a producer and marketing specialist for radio stations in Pittsburgh

and West Palm Beach, FL.





MAHWAH, NJ: Jaguar has snatched another PR pro from Ford. Jaguar Cars

North America named UK native Simon Sproule, who was most recently

public affairs media manager for Ford’s Truck Vehicle Center, as VP of

public affairs. Sproule replaces Mark Miller, who resigned at the end of

last year.





PITTSBURGH: MARC Public Relations has added an estimated dollars 250,000

to its billings from a number of new accounts landed at year’s end. The

new business includes contracts with Wild Birds Unlimited, Mohawk

Industries, Carlow College, gotajob.com and Biocontrol Technology.





NEW YORK: iRenovate.com, a home improvement Internet portal, has tabbed

Kyra Neeley as director of marketing and PR. Neeley has been charged

with managing the company’s marketing team and generating media

opportunities to promote the iRenovate.com brand. She comes to the site

from Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners, where she was interactive

PR/promotions manager.





DEARBORN, MI: Susan Skerker, previously Ford’s director of global public

policy, has been named head of corporate relations at Visteon Automotive

Systems, the company’s parts-making subsidiary. Ford is expected to make

an SEC filing for public offering of Visteon stock sometime this

year.





SAN MATEO, CA: MarketFirst Software, which recently launched a site

selling prepackaged Web marketing campaigns, announced the selection of

A&R Partners as its agency of record. The MarketFirst account,

previously handled by Trainer PR, is worth around dollars 300,000 in

annualized fee revenue.





LOS ANGELES: BSMG Worldwide has appointed three senior staffers. Former

Fleishman-Hillard VP Eric Rose has been named managing director in the

LA office, while Carmen Lawrence and Austin Birdsall were named senior

associates in the marketing communications and tech practices,

respectively.
