CHICAGO: BSMG Worldwide has opened a US outpost of its SLAM UK

youth-oriented PR practice.

The office, which opened in Chicago late last month, will be headed by

Rebecca Loehr, a four-year BSMG veteran. The six-person operation will

be called simply SLAM.

According to BSMG consumer marketing division chief Barbara Molotsky,

the new office has already contributed its youth-marketing expertise to

existing BSMG accounts, including teen marketing programs for milk,

youth-oriented work on behalf of Quaker’s granola bars and an

anti-smoking campaign for Lorrilard Tobacco Co. While SLAM will become

part of the consumer marketing division, it will maintain separate

offices.

Molotsky said that the consumer marketing focus of the BSMG Chicago

office made it an ideal location for SLAM’s first US outpost. ’More and

more consumer product firms that we deal with want to reach the teen

market,’ she said.

SLAM UK, a division of BSMG’s London office, recently worked on the UK

launch of She’s All That.
