MINNEAPOLIS: Morgan & Myers has tapped Mary Rosenthal as president of its Minneapolis outpost. Rosenthal, who joins the agency following a stint as VP of sales and marketing for Sartori Food Corp., has also held communications positions with Grace Cocoa and Dean Food Company.

She succeeds Sara Jean Thomas, who retired at the end of 1999.





ANAHEIM: Hardee’s has signed up Ink as its PR agency of record, an

account worth dollars 300,000 in annual billings. The firm has been

charged with pitching the story of Hardee’s brand revamp to the national

media.





ELYRIA, OH: Invacare Corp., a manufacturer of medical products for

people requiring home health care, has promoted Susan Elder to the post

of director of marketing communications. Elder, who joined the company

in 1995 as manager of PR and IR, will now be responsible for the

development of all communication plans that support corporate marketing

programs.





NEW YORK: Fleishman-Hillard has tweaked the executive hierarchy in its

New York office. SVP/senior partner Peter Verrengia has been promoted to

the post of office GM, while SVP/senior partner Nancy Seliger will

assume the deputy GM position. Jan Van Meter, who has served as NY GM

since 1987, will continue in his role as regional president of

Fleishman’s Atlanta, Boston, Montreal, NY, Ottawa and Toronto

offices.





LOS ANGELES: Internet Wire has tapped former GCI Group senior AE Amy

Orebaugh as its PR manager, a post which encompasses all national media

relations and executive communications. During her four-year tenure in

GCI’s LA office, Orebaugh worked with Universal Studios Online and radio

personality Dr. Laura Schlesinger.





BOSTON: Clarke & Company has added Bentley College to its client

roster.



The agency will direct media relations initiatives to raise awareness of

the college in the national and regional press. The contract is slated

to run through June.





LOS ANGELES: Air New Zealand has appointed Terrie Ward as PR director in

charge of the carrier’s North and South American operations. She arrives

at the airline from Six Flags Over Georgia, where she served as

communications/advertising manager.





NEW YORK: Respected journalist and PR pro Michael Feldman died January 6

at the age of 39. Recognized twice by the AP for excellence as a

journalist, Feldman made the move from radio to PR in 1987. His PR

career included work with IBM and CompuServe, and he was most recently

director of client services for RLM Public Relations.





NEW YORK: Manning, Selvage & Lee has named Mike Marino director of

creative and strategic development. Formerly president of Medicus’ NY

and London operations, Marino will counsel corporate, healthcare and

consumer clients on global branding and franchise strategies.
