MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA: After ending its relationship with longtime

agency of record Wilson McHenry in late November and temporarily moving

its PR in-house, Cobalt Networks has turned to Provo, UT-based

ConnectPR.

’Wilson McHenry has done great work for us, but our business strategy

has shifted,’ said Cobalt PR manager Renee Reyes-Estevez. ’We brought

our core product PR and media relations in-house and just needed support

for specific projects and campaigns. Connect works well with this

model.’

Because the firm bills clients on a fee-by-project agreement rather than

by hourly or monthly retainer, ConnectPR offered the flexibility Cobalt

needs, according to Reyes-Estevez.

Cobalt, a Mountain View, CA-based developer of network server appliances

for ISPs, businesses and educational institutions, had worked with

Wilson McHenry since its inception in April 1998.

’We’re very proud of the work we did for Cobalt - building the brand and

product awareness to the point where they could enjoy an extremely

successful IPO,’ said a Wilson McHenry spokesperson. ’We wish the team

there the best of luck going forward.’

Formerly known as Network Associates, ConnectPR boasts 28 employees in

two offices (Provo and San Francisco), and reported revenues of dollars

3.1 million in 1999.
