PARIS: BSMG has appointed Ogilvy and New York Stock Exchange

veteran Bob Lear to develop its global network, with a particular focus

on Europe.

The move, announced last week, vests Lear with responsibility for the

expansion of BSMG’s cross-border, cross-practice accounts and client

services.

’He will develop the network physically,’ said BSMG/Europe chief

executive Tim Sutton. ’He has the experience to know what it takes to

run a global business.’

Still based in Paris, Lear has also been charged with identifying and

developing new business opportunities - including possible acquisitions

in the region.

While at Ogilvy, Lear was a central figure in the development of IBM’s

32-country network, which still supports the company’s Europe, Middle

East and Africa business. He also served as director of internal

communications for the New York Stock Exchange, where he managed the

organization’s agencies in the US, Europe and the Middle East.
