PN will be responsible for branding the organization - a somewhat

difficult challenge, given the size and scope of its mission.

Bill Furmanski, the foundation’s PR manager, said the split from

Fleishman was necessary in order to unify the ALF’s marketing

activities. ’We have different needs, and as we look to launch the

(branding) campaign, it makes sense to pull the pieces together,’ he

said. ’We were looking to integrate the foundation and marketing

campaigns.’

Furmanski was unable to provide the worth of the new contract: ’We’re

negotiating the scope of work and have not determined a budget.’

PN is already part of the team that won the foundation’s dollars 300

million annual marketing account for a youth-oriented anti-smoking

campaign. The team, led by Arnold Communications, includes Bromley

Aguilar & Associates and Imada Wong Communications Group, among others.
