The 50-strong commission, which is responsible for the regulation,

supervision and development of the island’s financial services industry,

no longer handles the promotion of Jersey - a tax haven off the UK’s

shores - as a financial center. A 1998 report by former treasury

official Andrew Edwards recommended that it was not appropriate for the

same body to both promote and regulate Jersey’s financial services

industry.

Local media relations and information distribution have now fallen into

the hands of communications manager Moya Fenoughty.
