NEW YORK: The Arthur Page Society, one of the profession’s most

respected if not most influential groups, is looking for a full-time

leader.

Bruce Harrison, who has served as the organization’s executive director

for the last three years, announced his intention last week to step down

on June 1. His departure, however, may well portend a new era for the

society. ’(Society president) Jim Murphy and I both feel that the we

need a full-time representative based in New York,’ Harrison said. ’At

my current level of involvement, I feel I’ve done all I can.’

Harrison, a legendary environmental PR pro and a long-time champion of

social respon- sibility, will return to his consulting work on a

full-time basis. He said that the society hopes to name a replacement

well in advance of his proposed departure.
