NEW YORK: Ziff-Davis publication Yahoo! Internet Life has ended its relationship with the Rosen Group and brought its PR in-house.

To jump-start the magazine's nascent internal operation, the company has hired former Playboy Enterprises director of corporate communications Diane Stefani to fill the newly created role of PR director. Stefani, who had been with Playboy for six years (see p14), was responsible for promoting a number of the company's divisions, including online and product marketing.

'I intend to grow the department once we are settled,' she said. 'I want to educate the public about what a hot magazine this is.'

Stefani, who officially started in her new job last week, has already launched a search for an agency to promote the Yahoo! Internet Life online music awards. The ceremony is scheduled to take place on July 24.

Yahoo! Internet Life launched in 1996 with a rate base of 100,000. The title's current rate base is 900,000.

Stefani will continue in her role as chairman of the Magazine Publishers of America's communications committee.
