SAN FRANCISCO: In its third executive-level hire over the past 60

days, Niehaus Ryan Wong has snapped up Hill & Knowlton national media

training head Paige Bischoff as VP for two of its highest-profile

practice groups.

Bischoff, formerly senior MD of H&K’s US media & communications training

practice in New York, will oversee NRW’s people & technology and new

media & entertainment groups, which include clients such as The Motley

Fool. She replaces Blaise Simpson, who recently jumped to CNET.

’As a former journalist, I’ve been impressed that the media holds up NRW

as one of the few agencies that truly gets it,’ explained Bischoff, who

started her career as a weekend anchor and reporter for several CBS and

NBC affiliates.

Bischoff’s hiring keeps with a recent NRW effort to beef up its senior

management ranks. Facing local criticism for maintaining a lean layer of

senior counsel and a large stable of junior staffers, NRW recently

created its first-ever VP level. Bischoff joins Marcie Powers, who was

hired in February as VP of eBusiness, and Aaron Heimrich, who joined as

VP of eMarketing, financial services and global networks.

H&K has not directly replaced Bischoff, though national director of

media and communications training Julie Johnson has effectively taken

over her responsibilities.
