DALLAS: Diane Coffman-Byrum, 40-year-old PR director for the Associates

Corp., died April 22 from complications following back surgery. She had

joined the company from Electronic Data Systems in September and married

former EDS colleague Reed Bolton Byrum in March.





INDIANAPOLIS: Publicis Dialog’s Indianapolis outpost has named Cameron

Carter as managing director and Sue Hetzler as an account supervisor.

Carter, formerly president of Carter Communications, replaces Gail

Brown, who has relocated to the agency’s Salt Lake City offices.





SAN FRANCISCO: Ogilvy has added Antonia Inman as a SVP in the agency’s

San Francisco office. Prior to landing at Ogilvy, Inman was senior

director of corporate marketing for Acta Technology.





NEW YORK: Aventis S.A. has tapped Ketchum’s NY healthcare practice to

provide PR support for Ketek, the first in a new family of treatments

for respiratory tract infections. SVP/group manager Chris Smith will

lead the account team.





SAN FRANCISCO: Schwartz Communications’ San Fran outpost has landed

three new accounts: dot.TV, an idealab company that holds the worldwide

rights to register ’.tv’ domain names; FreeSamples.com, a start-up that

partners with marketers to offer free product samples online; and

PeerLogic, a global supplier of enterprise class business integration

software.





SOUTHFIELD, MI: Federal-Mogul has named James Fisher director of

electronic communications. He was previously director of communications

for the Friction Materials Group of Honeywell International.





MEMPHIS: Colgate-Palmolive’s Household Surface Care division has hired

Archer/Malmo and charged it with positioning Murphy Oil Soap as the

cleanest and ’greenest’ household cleaner.





NEW YORK: VerticalBuyer has launched LightingNews.com, an online news

portal for the dollars 28 billion global commercial lighting industry.

Key features of the portal, sponsored by Philips Lighting and

Architectural Lighting magazine, include articles by lighting companies

and a media center for PR pros and journalists.





WASHINGTON, DC: Brotman Winter Fried Communications has hired Brian

Boyer, Lisa McQuiggan and Michael Weiss as AEs. Boyer was previously a

reporter at the Maryland Gazette, McQuiggan an assistant sports

information director at George Mason University and Weiss an AE with

Kearns & West Public Affairs.
