month ago had been managing partner and partner of the DC office of

Nelson Public Relations, have left the firm to form Hyde Park

Communications.

The new firm will offer the traditional health and science expertise of

Issuesphere (which was merged with Nelson in January) as well as counsel

for medical technology companies. Among the new agency’s first clients

are Pfizer and Johns Hopkins University, for a global warming

project.

A strategic alliance has already been sealed with the NY-based PR

Consulting Group, headed by former Kamber Group SVP Jim Haggerty. Key

Hyde Park hires include Newsweek senior editor Mary Hager and former

Children’s Defense Fund communications director Charles Fulwood.

Farrell Fitch has filled the leadership void in Nelson’s DC office as VP

and GM. ’It presents an excellent opportunity for us to rebuild,’ she

said.
