NRW quietly wins Nordstrom .com

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO: While undoubtedly still mourning the loss or resignation (depending on who you ask) of its flagship Yahoo! account, Niehaus Ryan Wong has at least one new high-profile client to help ease the pain. Nordstrom.com, the online subsidiary of the Northwest retailing giant, has handed its PR account to NRW after just 10 months with Connors Communications.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO: While undoubtedly still mourning the loss or

resignation (depending on who you ask) of its flagship Yahoo! account,

Niehaus Ryan Wong has at least one new high-profile client to help ease

the pain. Nordstrom.com, the online subsidiary of the Northwest

retailing giant, has handed its PR account to NRW after just 10 months

with Connors Communications.

Nordstrom.com PR director Shasha Richardson did not return calls or

e-mail, and NRW officials also declined comment on the win. But sources

close to the agencies involved revealed that the shift had taken place

near the end of April. NRW documents obtained by PRWeek also contained

references to Nordstrom.com as a current client.

Sources said that recent management changes at Nordstrom.com were likely

factors in the company’s decision to terminate its relationship with

Connors.

In addition to a newly installed marketing VP, Nordstrom.com is also

losing its top e-commerce executive, EVP and GM, Bob Schwartz, who

recently announced his plans to leave the company after 18 months on the

job.

Offline PR for the department store is handled in-house.
