HAMPTON, NH: Fisher Scientific International has named Gia Oei director

of corporate communications. Oei, previously staff director of corporate

communications and public affairs at Bell Atlantic’s Directory Group,

will be responsible for all internal and external communications as well

as media relations for Web site Alchematrix.com. Prior to her Bell

Atlantic tenure, she was a communications specialist with several units

of Ford’s electronics division.





CHICAGO: Gateway has added Scott Phillips + Associates to its Gateway

Country Connection regional network of PR agencies. Other recently

appointed members of the network include The Tate Agency (Houston) and

Stoorza, Ziegaus & Metzger (California).





NEW YORK: Edelman has shifted Matthew Harrington from the West Coast to

New York, where he will serve as president of the firm’s dollars 45

million operation. He was previously president of the firm’s five-office

Western region, based in San Francisco, a position he held since

1998.

PR and communications for its Express stores. Prior to arriving at

Express, Seidman managed marketing for Paris Fashion Collections, a

fashion special that aired on ABC.





WASHINGTON, DC: The National Governors Association has named Christine

LaPaille director of public affairs. She was most recently an SVP at The

MWW Group, where she managed its Chicago office. She previously owned

her own agency in Chicago, Agenda Communications, which was acquired by

MWW in 1998.





PITTSBURGH: Ketchum has picked up three accounts worth upwards of

dollars 500,000: SourceAlliance.com, Cable Design Technologies and

customer relationship management firm Blue Hammock.





NEW YORK: Brainerd Communications has padded its IR department with

three pros that recently left Morgen-Walke Associates. Donna Stein,

formerly principal and group director in M-W’s IR department, becomes

managing director of IR; M-W account manager Jennifer Gery becomes

associate director of media relations; and M-W account associate Valerie

Carmello becomes an SAE.





PORTLAND, OR: MacKenzie Kesselring has announced the addition of two new

clients worth an estimated dollars 600,00-800,000 in annualized fee

revenue: Chrome Data, which provides automotive data online, and New

Channel, an e-business sales service supplier.





JACKSON HOLE, WY: Vibram, an Italian maker of high-performance shoe

soles, has hired Stanwood & Partners, the company’s first PR firm in its

65-year history. The account valued between dollars 75,000 and 100,000.
