three-year, dollars 1.5 million Cayman Islands account.

The hiring of Spring O’Brien, which has been charged with the creation

of an online news bureau, is a key component in the Caymans’ plan to

increase its profile in a competitive market. In addition to taking on

the agency, the Caymans are also searching for an Internet

communications coordinator.

While Caymans officials were unavailable for comment, sources said

Spring O’Brien won the contract not only because of its travel PR

background, but also because one of the firm’s staffers previously

worked for the Caymans at another firm. Jennifer Bacon, a staffer who

has experience working with Bermuda and Australia on tourism-related

business, will head up the account team.
