’Hong Kong and Singapore have always been important to our US clients

that are multinational,’ said Golin CEO Rich Jernstedt. He added that

the deal is part of what he calls the firm’s ’Greater China strategy,’

which is designed to generate more business in the country.

Forrest International founder Anne Forrest, who becomes managing

director/Asia for Golin, brings more than 20 years of Asian PR

experience to the company.

For her firm, the deal provides access to a wealth of resources and

greater geographic reach than ever before.

Known in the region for IR, financial PR and public affairs work,

Forrest boasts a 30-strong staff and a roster of big-name clients in

Thailand, Indonesia, China and Taiwan, including Cathay Pacific Airways,

Marriott Lodging International and the South China Morning Post

Holdings, a newspaper publisher.

Golin’s international maneuvering is likely far from finished. ’Other

parts of Asia, Latin American and Europe are still major priorities,’

Jernstedt said.
