LOS ANGELES: BSMG West Coast president Joseph Kessler, promoted to

that post last fall after the firm’s purchase of The Benjamin Group, has

jumped ship to head up a Los Angeles-based start-up.

Kessler, one of the key players in the agency’s recent charge across the

Golden State, has become CEO and president of Sourcemine, a

soon-to-be-launched b-to-b marketing-services portal. Though Kessler

could not be reached for comment, sources said his new employer is a

developer of desktop applications for the PR agency market - obviously

making Kessler’s BSMG background particularly valuable.

BSMG has no immediate plans to replace Kessler as regional

president.

In the Los Angeles office, Armando Azarloza has been promoted from

senior MD of the public and corporate affairs divisions (he also served

as GM) to fill Kessler’s role overseeing local operations. Azarloza’s

previous job has been restructured, with Eric Rose taking over as MD for

public affairs and Rod Clayton being named MD for corporate affairs.
