DALLAS: Giggo.com, an automotive site backed by DaimlerChrysler, is

preparing to ramp up its PR.

The Internet start-up, which is a subsidiary of the company’s services

arm, is looking for a PR agency with strong ties to the Dallas/Fort

Worth area as well as experience in building an online brand.

Doug Rozman, Giggo’s director of media relations, declined to give

precise budget figures but said, ’It will be a significant account,’

because the site is fully funded by DaimlerChrysler.

Though Rozman appears to have his work cut out for him - he’s currently

the company’s only PR staffer - he relishes the task of building a brand

from the bottom up.

’We’re looking for an agency that’s smart and service-oriented and can

deliver results,’ he explained. ’We need somebody that can help us break

through the clutter and build our profile in a competitive market.’

Although Rozman has already expressed interest in nine agencies with

sizeable operations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area (Golin/Harris,

Edelman, Fleishman-Hillard, Cummings McGlone & Associates, Ketchum,

Morgen-Walke, Ogilvy, Burson-Marsteller and BSMG), he is open to

inquiries from any firm with a Dallas office. Rozman said a local

presence is important because he intends to work intensely and

collaboratively with the agency of record.

The deadline for interested parties is Friday, August 4. The company

hopes to make a selection by the end of August.
