’We intend to raise the level of awareness about these issues among our

clients and have them prepared if anything should happen,’ said C&W

president Steve Aiello.

Sid Davidoff, a senior partner at Davidoff & Malito, said that his firm

represents clients whose record on workplace issues often forces them to

confront regulatory and PR hassles. Ideally, he said, the new alliance

will spare those clients ’grief and aggravation.’ He pointed to Reebok

and Nike as companies that have had their reputations sullied by

unfavorable coverage of overseas labor practices, and suggested that

they won’t be the last.

The two firms plan to audit operations of their clients to determine

whether there are existing problems just waiting to be publicized by

activist groups.
