five other marketing behemoths to win the hand of Imagio, a

Seattle-based integrated agency.

The acquisition allows JWT to offer clients an in-house PR function for

the first time since it split from WPP sibling Hill & Knowlton.

’We did the deal because of the brand cache,’ said Imagio president and

CEO Ralph Fascitelli. ’We liked the people and they agreed to let us run

our own show.’

He added that Imagio, which counts Atom Films among its PR clients,

expects to grow PR fee income from dollars 3 million in 1999 to dollars

6 million this year.

The firm boasts total billings of dollars 75 million and devotes around

half of its 90 staffers to PR.
