CLS has already transferred one major account, soy products producer White Wave, from its Minneapolis HQ to Denver. White Wave, which represents just under dollars 1 million in annual fees, puts the firm in the Denver top 10 by itself.

The new outpost will be led by Elizabeth Neid, an agency partner since 1996 and the former head of PR with Busch Entertainment. CLS head of PR Doug Spong hit upon the idea of opening the Denver office when Neid and her husband were considering moving to the region for a position he'd been offered with the University of Colorado Medical Center.

'The hardest thing with opening any office is how you export the culture,' Spong said, adding that Neid's presence in Denver addresses that concern.

'When you look at Denver, it really is a very robust market.'

CLS plans to target established brand names as well as up-and-coming companies in the region, Spong added.
