Incendio, a small San Francisco-based consultancy previously known as Echols & Associates, announced last week it has been retained by Flextronics as the company's worldwide agency of record. Headed by Jane Gideon-Echols, with help from associates stationed in London, Denver and Atlanta, Incendio will drive visibility programs and provide strategic counsel for the multinational corporation, which recently announced a dollars 10 million strategic alliance with Motorola.

For Cunningham, Flextronics is just the latest in a string of losses that have hit the company this past year. Since last summer, the agency, which was acquired last month by the UK-based Incepta Group in a deal worth nearly dollars 75 million, has seen the flight of such marquee PR clients as Novell. Another client, IBM subsidiary Edmark, was recently put up for review.

Last year, the agency also suffered the loss of major client Infoseek, plus General Magic and Alphablox.

The only substantial piece of PR business Cunningham has landed in the past year is the Hewlett-Packard e-Services account it shares with The Hoffman Agency, plus a handful of relatively small accounts including Cholestech, Cybersafe and In-Q-Tel.
