NEW YORK: In less than six years, high flier Adam Miller has risen from account executive at investor relations agency Abernathy MacGregor Group to its chief operating officer, a position he shifted into early this month.

Miller, aged 30, has held just about every position at the firm, rising from the bottom rung to hold positions such as senior vice president to his most recent post as managing director.

As COO, Miller reports to managing partners Jim Abernathy and Jim MacGregor.

During his time at the agency, Miller has been involved in the PR efforts for some of the entertainment industry's biggest mergers and acquisitions.

These include Viacom's purchase of CBS, EMI's merger with Warner Music and Comcast's bid to acquire MediaOne.

The new position is unlikely to change Miller's responsibilities for clients such as Viacom and CBS, but it could increase his potential to benefit directly from a sale. Abernathy MacGregor has been in discussion with a number of advertising congloms, including WPP, about a possible sale.
