Franco has new ownership deal

DETROIT: Franco PR Group, one of Detroit's oldest independent counseling firms, has announced new ownership. Dan Ponder, Franco owner and CEO, has new 50% partners in former Volkswagen PR chief Maria Leonhauser Rosenau and her husband, auto dealer Pete Rosenau. She will serve as president and he as chairman of the board.

Only a few weeks ago, PRWeek reported that Franco partner Lisa Vallee-Smith had pulled out to set up her own agency - to be named Airfoil.

At VW, Rosenau was responsible for new Audi and VW product launches in the US and Canada, including the popular VW Beetle.

Mr. Rosenau has owned dealership franchises in southeastern Michigan for Honda, Hyundai, Mazda, Subaru, Toyota and VW.
