SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO: Niehaus Ryan Wong, the agency best known as a pioneer in the consumer and b-to-b Internet space, has set its sights on a new sector: networking.

NRW is launching a new Global Networks group that will focus exclusively on the so-called 'convergence' space - products, technologies and services in broadband, telecom, wireless, digital, satcom and fiber optics. VP Aaron Heinrich, who has been leading the New Commerce group since last December, will take the helm of this new group.

'I had more than five years' experience in the wireless networking space at the McQuertergroup, and have been trying to come up with a way to put this expertise to work,' said Heinrich, who will continue overseeing the New Commerce group as well as Global Networks.

Current clients of the new group include Wysdom, a wireless application and infrastructure company; Bluekite, a mobile Internet software platform and Meteor, (previously known as Webcentric), another business transactions software company.

'The agency's goal is to do for network convergence what NRW did in the early 1990s for the Internet - evangelize a vision of possibilities and use its principles of leadership marketing to position clients as industry market-makers and market-shapers,' said Bill Ryan, chairman of NRW.
