NEW YORK: Saatchi & Saatchi/Rowland has lost top exec Craig Wood to Niehaus Ryan Wong, the South San Francisco-based agency best known for launching Yahoo! and other high-profile consumer Internet brands. Wood will head up NRW's two-year-old New York outpost.

A 30-year industry veteran who has worked with such major name corporations as Kodak, Nokia and Chase Bank, Wood, 53, most recently was COO of Saatchi's global b-to-b network. Prior to that, he ran his own agency, until it was acquired in 1994.

Wood takes over the VP and managing director post from Laura Hamilton, who left the NRW/New York for a client-side position.

Founded in 1991, the agency has shifted recently from its consumer-Internet focus to b-to-b, networking and convergence space.

Current clients include Vignette, eHitex, Meteor, Wysdom and Covisint, as well as the b-to-c-oriented Nordstrom.com and Creative Labs. In 2000, the firm will bring in about dollars 17 million in annual fees.

It is not known if Saatchi has named a replacement for Wood.
