NEW YORK: For the first time in the firm's 150-year history, Lehman Brothers has appointed a head of public relations, marketing and advertising, pulling together what had been three separate divisions.

NEW YORK: For the first time in the firm's 150-year history, Lehman Brothers has appointed a head of public relations, marketing and advertising, pulling together what had been three separate divisions.

Departing his role as director of corporate communications at UBS Warburg, Anthony Zehnder has been named managing director and global head of PR, marketing and advertising at the global investment bank. He will report to Joseph Gregory, the firm's chief administrative officer. The current heads of PR, marketing and advertising will report to Zehnder.

William Ahearn, a Lehman Brothers VP, said the firm's growth, which includes the hiring of 2,400 employees in the past two years, had made an integrated marketing approach necessary.

'As we continue to grow as a firm and as we establish a branding program, it makes sense to have those functions together,' he said.
