Read-Poland Associates to promote US Men's Clay Court Championships

HOUSTON: Furniture mogul Jim McIngvale has picked Read-Poland Associates to promote his US Men's Clay Court Championships, which will be held in Texas this year for the first time. The competition will take place May 1-5 at the Westside Tennis Club, where McIngvale also has built a practice basketball court for the Houston Rockets. McIngvale, owner of Houston's Gallery Furniture, is importing red clay from Europe to duplicate the French Open's surface. Among the competitors will be Andy Roddick and Jan-Michael Gambill.
