NEW YORK: Steve Maslow, a former investment banker who led Burson-Marsteller US's IR practice from March 1999 to November 2000, has jumped to Silicon Valley-based A&R Partners as head of the agency's new New York office and financial communications practice.

Maslow, who spent 14 years as a partner with Bear Stearns before switching to PR, said he was lured to A&R by members of his former IR team at Burson who had already signed on with the hi-tech independent.

Burson has since appointed Theodore Lowen as Maslow's replacement in the corporate practice.

At A&R - one of Silicon Valley's largest independently owned hi-tech PR firms, with more than 90 employees and about dollars 9 million in annual revenues - Maslow will manage a team of 12 Manhattan-based employees and counsel a variety of East and West Coast clients.

'With so many newly public and pre-IPO companies on our client roster, we felt an increasing demand for financial communications and IR capabilities,' said A&R managing partner Bob Angus.
