SAN FRANCISCO: Fineman Associates, an SF-based PR firm, has created a telecommunications practice to serve what has become a booming industry sector for Northern California. The new group will be headed up by VP Gary Quackenbush, a former editor of Telecommunications magazine whose PR experience includes work with such companies as Pacific Bell, AT&T, GTE and Motorola. The group's flagship client is Globalstar USA, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vodafone Group that recently moved its PR account from the GCI Group to Fineman. GCI continues to handle PR for Globalstar LP, a partnership of Loral, Qualcomm and Vodafone.
