WSW looks to the outside for EVPs

NEW YORK: Weber Shandwick Worldwide has bypassed internal

candidates and hired three new EVPs from outside - two from other

agencies and one from a corporation.

John Lovallo has been appointed EVP of corporate and IR, having

previously served as SVP and director of IR and financial communications

at Ogilvy PR. He replaces Diane Perry, who left WSW for Gavin Anderson

at the end of April (PRWeek, April 30).

Lisa Travatello has been appointed EVP of consumer and creative

director.

She comes from Porter Novelli, where she served as SVP of business

development and creativity.

Finally, Jack Domeischel, who served as global head of marketing

communications for biotech firm The Ares-Serono Group has parleyed

recent consulting work for WSW into the job of EVP of healthcare.

All three will lead their respective practices and will report to New

York managing director Paul Costello. Their main charge will be

attracting new business.

Costello said he looked at current staff to fill the EVP jobs, but

instead decided to hire from the outside, explaining that this would

bring the agency new blood and new ideas. 'Adding outside thinking and

people who bring a new perspective, especially in a challenging economic

time, is critical.'
