SS&K lands another nonprofit: US Fund for UNICEF

NEW YORK: SS&K has won agency-of-record status for the US Fund for

UNICEF, the education, fundraising, and advocacy arm of the nonprofit

group based in New York City.

Edelman and Ogilvy also competed for the account, which will be run out

of SS&K's New York office. Terms of the account were not disclosed.

SS&K will focus on creating campaigns for fundraising initiatives such

as "Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF" and UNICEF greetings cards.

"We want to raise awareness about what we're doing, as well as what our

corporate sponsors have been doing," said Marissa Buckanoff, media

relations manager for the fund.

SS&K will also provide assistance with corporate partner

initiatives.

Corporate sponsors of the group include Procter & Gamble,

Kimberly-Clark, United Airlines, and AOL Time Warner.

"The greatest volume of work SS&K will be involved with is our corporate

alliances and initiatives," said Anne-Marie Grey, vice president of

marketing at UNICEF USA. "SS&K is going to help us improve our

communications with these corporations, as well as create new ways to

involve consumers and employees," she added.

This is the second recent nonprofit win for SS&K. At the end of June,

the agency took over the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation global health

division.
