LOS ANGELES: As the nation's television writers converge in
California for the bi-annual critics tour, both Fox Network and NBC will
be trawling for new candidates for their top entertainment PR posts.
Fox Entertainment president Gail Berman has been quietly sounding out
potential candidates about becoming head of entertainment publicity,
though she insisted she wasn't firing anyone. However, the search has
led to speculation that the position of Christina Kounelias, SVP of
publicity and corporate communications (the most senior entertainment PR
executive at Fox), is in question.
NBC also has a senior slot vacant. It is looking to replace the highly
regarded Shirley Powell, who announced her departure to Turner
Entertainment Networks last week (PRWeek, July 9).
