New Ogilvy IR head is in from TheStreet

NEW YORK: Ogilvy PR Worldwide has snatched Felicia Vonella, former

VP of investor relations for TheStreet.com, to become SVP, investor

relations.

Ogilvy's top IR post has been vacant since John Lovallo left to become

EVP of corporate and IR at Weber Shandwick in May. (PRWeek, May 21.)

Vonella, who said the two-month leadership vacuum has easily allowed her

to take charge of Ogilvy's five-person New York IR group, also said her

immediate goal will be to increase IR promotion to existing Ogilvy PR

clients. She also plans to attend PR pitches to promote IR to potential

PR clients. IR on its own, Vonella said, is not enough.

"A mere IR program doesn't do a company justice if you want to turn your

corporate brand into shareholder value," she said. "You need a solid PR

program, strategic employee communications, and the ability to get

people excited about your business, especially in this market."

Current IR clients include Titan Pharmaceuticals and American Home

Mortgages.
