Top Coke PR SVP out after one year

ATLANTA: Charlie Holleran, SVP and chief communications officer of

Coca-Cola, who was handpicked by chairman and CEO Doug Daft, is out

after just one year.

Spokesman Rob Baskin explained that Holleran will continue to consult,

while VP of PR Bill Marks will assume some of his duties.

A statement gave the reason that Holleran's assignment of restructuring

the North American PR staffs of the company had been completed, but this

contrasts with the way Daft initially positioned Holleran's global

charge.

In a May 10, 2000 press release, Daft said Holleran would assume

worldwide responsibility for all internal and external

communications.

Marks joined Coke in December 2000 from GCI Atlanta, where he served as

general manager.
