SAN FRANCISCO: Niehaus Ryan Wong is closing its two satellite offices in New York and Austin, and is consolidating all its services in San Francisco.
Twenty jobs have been cut company-wide, and the remaining staff now numbers 50.
"We have a responsibility to our current clients and employees to continue operating a fiscally sound business," said chairman Bill Ryan. "The best way to do that is through consolidation."
Ryan said the company will continue to focus exclusively on technology.
In March, PRWeek reported that the agency had laid off 22 people, due primarily to the loss of key clients such as Yahoo! and the struggles of clients such as eMusic and eLoan. Ryan said that no recent account losses had specifically contributed to the decision.
"It is just a reflection of the times; it's about right-sizing the business," he said. "And clients' budgets are shrinking."
