FALLS CHURCH, VA: HandySoft, a Korea-based software company, is in
the final stages of seeking a full-service marketing agency to help it
gain a wider awareness in the marketplace through PR and
The US office also handles marketing in Europe and South America.
HandySoft designs software to help with the flow of tasks in the
workplace, such as time sheets and expense reports. The company was
formed in Korea in 1991 and claims to have more than 280,000 users at
more than 350 sites.
The Virginia-based tech manufacturer sent out RFPs to eight companies,
seven of which responded. Abha Kaushal, marketing director, said the
list was narrowed down to four firms which were brought in to do oral
The company has budgeted between $2 million and $4 million
for all marketing activities during the first year, all of which will be
focused in the US. She added that she wants a full-service firm, with
both PR and advertising capabilities. Some of the firms, she said,
partnered with others to present all capabilities, but she prefers to
have all functions operating under one roof.
The PR division will be expected to target customers and analysts with
press functions including media tours, press relations, and trade shows.
